I am using HDMI 7″ touch Screen (www.adafruit.com/product/2407) for CI20 with Adndroid Kikat 4.4 but the screen was blank. I knew that TFP401 decoder chip for LCD does not have video scaler, resize and shrink video. I have 3 questions:
1/ How do I set the resolution of 7″ touch Screen to make it work with CI20 on Android Kikat?
2/Is there an android driver for this touch screen? How to make it?
3/Is there any industrial HDMI 7″ touch screens for CI20 on Android Kikat 4.4?
Thank you.June 2, 2015 at 4:06 pm #48929
Welcome to the forum.
1) How do I set the resolution of 7″ touch Screen to make it work with CI20 on Android Kikat?
At the moment, the resolution is fixed in the kernel driver. (720p for Android)
So you’ll have to recompile the kernel (and tweak sources) for the 800×480 resolution.
See for instructions overview regarding kernel compilation
for a patch that adds 1024×768 resolution etc. This should be a good starting point.
I come from a Debian/Linux background. So if there is something android hidden behind the scenes. would help. You’ll need to work on the Android branch which is dev-mips-kitkat-3.0.8
2) Android driver for touchscreen.
“AR1100 shows up like a USB mouse, it works on all operating systems as the computer doesn’t even know its a touch screen, it just thinks its a mouse! ”
3) Any industrial HDMI screen should work..
