If you want to delve into working with the Meta architecture but don’t have hardware available, you can run the QEMU emulator with Meta support.

It’s available to download from Meta Insider – SDK section of Imagination Technologies website.

You can either boot a full OS as if running on a Meta core or run usermode executables compiled for Meta (if running Meta QEMU on a Linux host).

QEMU is an open source machine emulator which executes code for a target machine on a host machine with a different architecture. It supports target systems featuring a wide variety of different CPUs & peripherals. Meta QEMU provides an implementation of Meta CPU support within the QEMU emulator, in addition to various associated boards & peripherals.

Included in the release is full documentation on features added to QEMU as part of the META CPU support.
