    Hi,

I haven’t seen this question pop up before, but maybe it could be useful for everyone.
Are SDIO devices supported over the SD socket? Has anyone actually tested this? Which versions does the host controller (and the bus driver) support? Do any restrictions apply? Eg. have to power down the on-board wifi module, etc.
Your help is very much appreciated.

    Hi Charp,

    Welcome to the forum.

The jz4780 has two mmc blocks. One is used by the wifi module in SDIO mode.
And the other is wired to the sd card socket and used in mmc mode.

You should check the programmers manual

    And schematic
    http://mipscreator.imgtec.com/CI20/hardware/board/CI20_V1.0_schematic.PDF

    for details

    Hi ZubairLK,

Thank you for the valuable information.
It seems to me me that high speed SDIO won’t work over MSC0 (bumpy maybe) but normal speed should be fine.
    Could you kindly confirm this?

    Thanks,
    charp

    Hi charp,

Is there a specific reason that you are assuming that?

I couldn’t find any differences in the jz4780 manual regarding differences in MSC0/1 etc. Are there?

Regarding hardware layout differences. I don’t know the details between msc/sdio to be able to answer.

    Regards,
    ZubairLK
