When exporting animations from Maya 2010, I’m getting the following error for some of the skinned meshes in the model:

Discarding skin info due to mismatch in the number of vertices in the skin and the mesh.

How do I fix this in the mesh? All vertices are skinned and have weights, so I’m not sure what is causing the error.

It’s difficult for us to advise you without more information.

Would it be possible for you to send a sample file exhibiting the problem to devtech@imgtec.com?

    Hi Gordon

I figured out what the problem was. It was that some nodes had the same name as the geometry nodes, so the exporter was getting confused. I got round the issue by making sure every node had a unique name. Not a major issue, but possibly something to consider for a future version of the exporter.

    Thanks
